Our "Clean/Unclean" Ratings

Clean

Absolutely none of the "serious" topics above, e.g., cursing, sex scenes, or substance abuse. May have some minor violence, especially in action books, but these will have their own content warnings still on them. 

Somewhat Clean

May have a few more minor curses, still no sex scenes or substance abuse. Minor violence will not be unheard of but as usual, content warnings are still included. 

Moderately Clean

Seems a little iffy at times but isn't necessarily unclean. This tag will be used when we aren't sure whether or not to recommend this piece or not. Included may be LGBTQ+ topics, where your stance on the opinion may sway this more or less towards one side of our rating spectrum. 

Somewhat Unclean

When things start seeming more than just a little iffy and honestly unappealing and distasteful to us, we're going to start to put things in here. Examples would be obsessive cursing, non-explicit mentions of sex or crude topics, etc. 

Unclean

Books that we don't count as clean in any way shape or form. These will usually have the longest list of content warnings and may include explicit sex scenes, obsessive cursing, and/or graphic gore or abuse.
